Creating a Wildfire Prepared Home in California

PCBC and CBIA collaborated with the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) to conduct a live burn demonstration at the 2024 PCBC event. This demonstration, held at The North Net Training Center in Anaheim, was only the fifth of its kind. A limited number of Max Pass Conference attendees and special guests participated. The demo highlighted IBHS’s Wildfire Prepared Home™ methods, showing how creating a noncombustible zone and using wildfire-resistant materials, including MWF Solutions Fire-Resistant Steel Fencing, can significantly lower the risk of home ember ignition. We joined forces with The California Homebuilding Foundation and The Donald Chaiken Building Industry Technology Academy to construct the burn structures.
