Long awaited updates to California’s fire-hazard map

Cal Fire's new fire-hazard maps will double the local land needing to follow safety codes. Starting Monday, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection will release an update to its fire hazard zones, increasing the acres in local fire areas that must meet stricter fire safety building standards.
